Talking about the best way to earn online, I would have said it is through video making, as we have seen how videos are massively valued over written content. This is evident in YouTube payments and even here on Hive. However, making videos is more tasking compared to mere writing. The absence of a good camera or camera phone, and even a videographer (as the case may be), can deprive someone of the opportunity to make videos. This is unlike the writing pattern, where one only needs to write.
These days, with social media platforms paying handsomely, the highest concentration of rewards has been placed on video content, and people who are into video creation are earning more compared to those who focus on writing. If you are in doubt, that simply means you have not really checked how the system works.
So, if you can get into video production as a content creator, build a good number of followers, and grow a large audience, good payment is almost guaranteed.
But if you cannot get into video creation because it is difficult and requires more practical effort, technical know-how, and sometimes extra hands, you can settle for writing. However, not just writing for the sake of it, you must find a niche and also identify the best platform to publish your work.
My first earning through blogging was many years ago, and I got it while writing news for one of the news/blogging companies, Opera Mini. It felt like a dream to me when I earned up to N25,000 from a news article I wrote, which was actually a crime related story. When I noticed that this niche attracted a good number of views, I decided to settle into it. Yes, people like to read crime stories and bad news, and I had to focus on that niche until the payment system became very difficult. Eventually, many of us left, myself included.
So, if you can find a niche, settle into it, grow your profile, consistency and good earnings are sure to come. However, one must also find the best writing platform, and there are many of them out there.
Using the Hive platform as an example, there are people who are focused on specific niches. They have established themselves in those areas, and people with similar interests have come to recognize them. Even the big whales who enjoy supporting such content have backed them up.
Unfortunately for me, I have a niche, but the support has not come yet. Nevertheless, I remain unshakeable.
