These days, almost everyone is looking for a way to earn money online. It's not even surprising anymore, things are hard and not everyone has access to office or non-virtual jobs, and earning online seems like the easiest way to earn money. Some people do not meet the qualifications, some can't find a good one, while some just want something flexible that allows them to work from home or at their own pace.
But the Internet is full of lies and that is a problem. The moment people realised that many are desperate to earn, fake platforms started showing up everywhere. They make promises of quick money, ask you to invest and get double or triple back, or ask you to perform certain "tasks" for rewards. You join, spend your time, and sometimes even your money, but at the end, nothing to show for it.
I've experienced it as well. I've tried a few of these sites. Some actually paid me once or twice before they suddenly disappeared into thin air, and others took my money right away without pretending to be real. It's surprising how they start up well with flashy websites, testimonials that look real, and people posting supposed proofs of earnings, until one day, you will wake up and the site no longer exists. The next things is to sit, staring at the phone's screen and wondering how you fell for it again.
After a while, I told myself that I was done trying anything online. I didn't want another disappointment. Until the day, my friend introduced me to Hive, and I still remember being very skeptical of it at the time. She talked about it and said there was no need invest or deposit any money to join or earn, all I needed to do was to write, engage and post. My first thought was, "Who gives free money just like that?" It sounded like another one of those sweet stories that always ended badly.
I decided to check it out still. She helped me create an account, I looked around and still didn't think much would come out of it. Even after having made several posts, I kept telling myself, "Let's just see how long this one lasts before it crashes too." Because that's how it usually goes online, they start well and then vanish. But Hive was different, I started noticing how organized everything was, how people actually interacted with one another, and users that has been on Hive for years. I came across an account that has been active for eight years. Eight whole years! I was like, "Okay... maybe this one is real."
I soon began to learn more about the Hive platform and saw how Hive is not one of those get-rich-quick type of platform. Instead, it's more like a community where people earn by just being themselves and sharing stories, creativities and ideas, and all earnings comes because people value your work, thoughts and efforts.
I began posting more. Posting short reflections, fictions, personal stories, and the little things that I experienced or thought about. Connecting with and building relationships with others helped me see Hive as something real. I met some people from different states and countries that have long been involved in Hive and even met other new people that are still figuring it all out. For once, I started earning online without fear that the platform would vanish overnight.
If I've learned anything from all these, it's that I don't have to chase every platform that promises quick money. I just have to take my time and find something real as well as something that adds value to me. Hive has been that place for me. It's genuine, rewards effort and gives space to grow. Hive has become my preferred and favorite way to making money online out of all other platforms I have tried, not because of perfection but because due to it's authenticity in a time when so many scams exist.
