Hafiz, a hardworking farmer, lived a life filled with contentment and happiness. He found joy in the simple pleasures of his days. This joy stemmed from his deep satisfaction, and in turn, his satisfaction arose from his happiness. One day, a wise man paid him a visit and shared the significance of diamonds and the power they held. The wise man told Hafiz, "With a diamond the size of your thumb, you could purchase an entire city. And if you had a diamond as big as your fist, you could own an entire country." After imparting this wisdom, the wise man gone. That night, Hafiz found himself unable to sleep, consumed by dissatisfaction. Consequently, his happiness had also ended.
The next morning, Hafiz decided to sell his fields to provide for his family and left in search of diamonds. He searched far and wide within and beyond the country but couldn't find any. As time passed, he became completely broken mentally, physically and financially, eventually becoming so despondent that he tragically took his own life by leaping into a river.
Once, the man who had bought Hafiz's fields was tending to his oxen near a peaceful drain that ran beside the fertile farmland. In the morning light, the sun's gentle rays bathed a stone on the drain's far bank, making it shine like a rainbow.
The man, enchanted by the stone's beauty, couldn't resist its charm. He picked up the shimmering gem and decided it deserved a special place in his living room, where it would forever remind him of that fortunate morning by the drain.
On that very day, the man who had informed Hafiz about diamonds visited the new field owner. He glanced at the gleaming stone and inquired, "Has Hafiz returned?" The new owner responded, "No, why do you ask?" The wise man explained, "I recognize it immediately because it's a diamond." The new owner calmly replied, "No, it's just a stone I found near the drain. Let me show you." The wise man, curious as ever, joined in, collecting some of these stones as samples. After a thorough examination, it turned out that these stones were, in fact, diamonds. As they continued their investigation, it became clear that the field held a hidden treasure trove of diamonds, waiting to be discovered all around the land.

- When we have the right perspective, it's like walking on a land filled with diamonds. Opportunities are always right under our feet. There's no need to search far and wide; all we have to do is recognize them.
- The grass in someone else's field always looks green.
- We often find ourselves tempted when we see what others possess, just as others are enticed by what we have. They believe that exchanging places with us will bring them happiness.
- For those who don't see the opportunity, its arrival may sound like mere noise.
- People often fail to recognize the value of an opportunity when it arrives but chase after it when it begins to slip away.
- Opportunities don't come knocking twice. A second chance, while different from the first, may turn out better or worse, but it's never identical. This highlights the importance of making the right decision when the time is right. Even the right decision made at the wrong time can become a mistake.
