There was a period in my life when everything felt scattered. My days were busy, but somehow unproductive. I always felt like I was chasing time, and by the end of each day, I couldn’t point to anything meaningful I had accomplished. It was frustrating, and slowly, it began to affect my self-confidence.
Sometimes I blame myself about the kind of life I am living because things are not going well but everything changed the day I decided to start a simple habit: waking up early and praying thanking God for keeping me alive and after that I will start planning my day before the world wakes up with me.
At first, I only wanted to try it for a week. I set my alarm an hour earlier than usual, dragged myself out of bed, and sat with a notebook. I wrote down three things I wanted to accomplish each day. They didn’t have to be big goals; sometimes they were as small as “clean my room,” “read 10 pages,” or “call a friend I haven’t spoken to in a while.”
But that tiny habit slowly became the anchor of my life.
Waking up early gave me quiet time I never knew I needed. The world felt calm, my thoughts were clearer, and the pressure of the day had not yet started. Planning my day gave me direction. Instead of reacting to everything around me, I became intentional. I started feeling more in control of my time and my choices.
There was a time I ruined a business but that time i used to arrive at my shop lately and all my customers have been complaining about these, but one day I changed the habit of coming late to my shop, to my surprise since I have changed the habit of lateness things have changed for me in my business.
There was a time I used to drink alcohol with all my savings and this habit has been the way of my life but one day I don't know the kind of spirit that just came over me and told me that I should just stop the habit of drinking alcohol that I should be invest with my money and since I have changed the habit I can say it boldly that since then things have been working out for me.
With time, this habit grew into something bigger. I became more disciplined, more organized, and surprisingly, more confident. I stopped procrastinating as much because each morning reminded me of what truly mattered. Slowly, my productivity improved, my mind became clearer, and I felt more present in my own life.
Looking back now, it’s amazing how such a small habit of a quiet hour in the morning could transform the way I live. It taught me that change doesn’t always come from big decisions. Sometimes, it starts with one small habit practiced consistently.
And for me, waking up early and planning my day will always remain the habit that changed everything.
