Well, to be honest with y'all, when I first joined this amazing platform I didn't have so much expectations. I just wanted a place where I could put down my words and maybe resonate with someone. After the challenge I had with my health, life felt a little somehow for me, and I stopped relating that much with people physically. Also, I didn't feel comfortable sharing my experiences with people physically, so I needed a space where I could let it out freely and all, and hive became that space for me.
So, hive to me is a wonderful platform, it gives me a chance to be heard, to be seen and to connect with people from different part of the world. You don't need to be a celebrity and such to thrive on hive, you just need to be you and be consistent, that's all. And with the few years that I've spent on hive, I can say for free that it's an amazing platform. I've seen and read about various people, their lives, struggles, wins, dreams, families, background, education and all.
Hive can be likened to a big village or community where everyone regardless of religion, tribe nad all could connect via writing and talent showcasing. And one of the things I like about hive is that it welcomes and encourages talents and creativity. If you're a writer, an artist, a photographer, a musician, a football analyst, a chess player, a teacher and all, there's always room for you and you're always welcome.
And on hive, there are various communities that you can write or show your talents on, some have weekly prompts and all, while some don't, all you need is just to go through the rules and see what fits into each community, that way you know the kind of thing you can share, talk of communities like ,
,
,
,
, to mention but a few. Also talk of the
community that gives room for everyone to meet, connect, engage and all while coming up with weekly topics to discuss on. All of these communities support and help writers to grow.
Now, the prompt asks for both the good and bad. And I can say that hive in all honesty is not perfect. Well, no one is. And one of the things I will love to point out is how some newcomers feel lost and find it confusing at first. Well, I can't say whose fault that is.
Another thing I have noticed and would love to point out is that there are times that some who are doing great work and posting genuine and original contents don't always get the recognition you thought they would. Even though it can be discouraging at first, I have come to understand that it goes beyond the rewards there's the need for one to be be consistent, engaging and also topping it all with patience.
In conclusion, I would love to add that most people often focus on the rewards instead of taking their time to really engage, share original and meaningful contents and form meaningful connections.
Despite all of that, hive still remains my own special place. It gave me a voice and it heard me when I really need to pour it all out. It listened to me, people on here listened to me, encouraged me, no one judged me, and I felt seen, heard and valued even when the recognition is slow/low. Hive is a wonderful platform to be a part of. Biggy thanks to y'all 🙏
