Greetings to all the readers here,
Health is something that we ignore a lot today. In this blog, I want to talk about what I believe is the best way to take care of your health. In my opinion, the most effective way to stay healthy is to become disciplined in life.
A few days ago, I participated in a contest running in this community where I shared my new year resolution. One of the main things I added to my resolution list was discipline. Many people aim for money, fame, or success, but I personally feel that discipline is far more important.
You might have already read my earlier blog, but when discipline enters your life, health automatically starts improving. Discipline creates a routine, and routine brings balance to life.
Let me give you an example. One of my friends has several bad habits. He drinks alcohol, smokes, stays up late at night, and lives an unhealthy lifestyle overall.
If he goes for a medical checkup today, he would be shocked to see the results. But because he is still young and does not feel any pain or discomfort right now, he believes everything is fine.
On the other hand, I have another friend who is very disciplined. He wakes up early every day, prays, practices meditation and yoga, and then goes for a walk.
That is how he starts his day. If you look at both of these friends from the outside, they may appear similar and healthy. But if they both go for a full medical checkup, the results would be completely different. Internally, their bodies would tell a very different story.
Discipline and bad habits do not show results in a single day. They show results in the long term. Over time, a disciplined person will always find himself in a better health condition compared to someone with unhealthy habits.
Recently, one of my uncles suffered a heart attack. The doctors strictly advised him to control his diet, especially oil based food and unhealthy items.
He shifted to simple meals like boiled vegetables and clean food. His recovery has been very fast, and even the doctors are surprised. This did not happen overnight. It was possible because he had been disciplined for most of his life.
On the other hand, a person with bad habits will eventually suffer serious consequences. Many of these habits can lead to cancer or other life threatening diseases.
Some people may argue that even those who do not smoke or drink can get cancer. That is true. My own grandmother passed away due to cancer.
She lived a natural life, ate fresh vegetables from the village, never smoked, and never touched alcohol. Still, she suffered from cancer.
But that argument cannot be used to justify smoking or excessive drinking. Those habits almost guarantee that serious health problems will occur one day if they are not stopped.
So if you truly want to stay healthy, the answer is simple. Become disciplined in whatever you do. Wake up early. Eat healthy food. Avoid junk food. At the same time, allow yourself a cheat day.
If you do not, you may feel stressed and restricted. Even the most disciplined people enjoy a cheat day with pizza or burgers, and that is completely fine.
Discipline does not mean torture. It means balance. Sleep early. Wake up early. Eat healthy food on time. Follow a routine. If you do these simple things consistently, you will give yourself the best chance to stay healthy for the rest of your life.
