My response to the @Indiaunited Contest - Theme: How Easy (or Hard) Is It to Earn More in Your Country?
2 decades back there was a time when young graduates would aspire to settle in foreign countries for job opportunities with better salary. But in today's time this face is changing. I see people who have left India and moved to other countries, again coming back as they feel there are ample opportunities here to grow, earn and live comfortably.
In India one can find many opportunities to earn money provided one is willing to, so I believe that it is easy to earn money here. Now how much one aims at earning is their individual choice. Some may want lot of money and some may be contended with enough that can manage their day to day expense and some savings. But there are earning opportunities for sure. For e.g. during Covid times when many people lost their jobs, everyone was homebound, during that time there were many home businesses that started. I personally know of so many Cloud kitchens started during that period. Home catering, hand made products and what not and in the last few years they have also established themselves.
While people call the population of India as it's disadvantage and at the same time it is of advantage also, because more people means more demand of almost everything and to fulfill that demand production has to happen, whether it is home business, running a factory, consulting, teaching or whatever. And with the world going digital, one does not even need to travel. In the past 2 decades I have also witnessed the growing MNC presence. Globally Companies find potential in India and have started having their set-ups in India. Like Bangalore has become the IT hub of India and almost every IT company is present here. Which creates ample job opportunities. Mumbai is the Financial hub and there are so many global financial companies present here. All of this is creating major job opportunities at all levels.
Earning money is not a challenge, it is about how much one wants to earn. This is where some areas are lucrative and some are still struggling. And that's where Indians want to travel to other countries to earn more money. Earning in dollars or other foreign currencies do make a lot of difference when it is converted to Indian Rupees, so that's where people want to shift to another countries for job opportunities. Like people in low end jobs find it beneficial to do the same jobs in other countries, because they may not get paid very high but still with the currency conversion they benefit and save much more. I think these days earning money is not limited to boundaries.
