What do you all think about the 15 mins city concept. I find it utter rubbish and a state of total surveillance under the name of Global warming, and do we really have to believe that every single person has to be a part of this 15 mins city or is it just going to be for the middle class masses.
Saudi Arabia has already started it's 15 mins city project, a linear city stretching over 100 kms. This utopian idea as of now looks very fancy, but do we realize what this is going to lead us to?
I loved this interview by a 12 year old girl. You can check it out here and she talks very bravely.
The WEF wants to introduce the Go from owning to Using. They mention that there are not enough resources to replace the 2 billion vehicles. But is it just that much? A city full of surveillance where first of all you are confined to a limited area and in that area there is a complete track of your every single movement. Isn't it a good way to track your whereabouts. A lot of people do like this idea of the Utopian city as of now, unless they really think about how this is taking away our freedom. People will have to start living in confined spaces which will be again allocated by the governments themselves. It would be nothing less than feeling like living in refuge camp with limited means and resources. One will have no land to grow their own food or be in their own space. Everything will be community based.
In this city the farthest neighborhood could be reached in maximum 20 mins, means one can understand their area of mobility and gradually there will be other measures, like if you would step out of this area you would be questioned.
Lately there have been some protest also happening in Oxford around this idea which has been introduced to the people. Yes, if it does not stop here then many countries will follow and implement. The waters of common man are tested time and again. This is just the beginning. They have already tried the general public obedience with the lockdowns and now this and then what next, there will rationing on travelling and what not. Anyone who would want to go outside of their set limits will have to pay a huge cost.
Is this what we really want for our children? How suffocating it would be
