Most people that give to the needy do not really mean that they have so much with them or they don't have issues to solve with their money but because they saw the need to assist the less privileged, the vulnerable, the needy, etc. Some people out of the little they have still squeeze out a minimum amount to quench their thirst, feed the hungry, and provide shelter to the homeless. The list doesn't end there and these are an act of charity that doesn't go un -rewarded in someone's lifetime.
I understand that many people are going through a lot, even the rich are also lamenting about the harsh economy in our world today but in everything, there are still people that we are better off. The people that can't afford a decent meal, the internally displaced, and so on. These are the kind of people we need to put a little smile on their faces out of what we have got no matter how little. It's an act of sacrifice that those lives will continue to pray for you for touching their lives positively, especially in the time they needed you most.
