Hello everyone, how are you? I hope you're all well. Lately, it seems like the entire country has been experiencing extremely high temperatures. Indonesia is experiencing this too. Moreover, I'm currently spending more time at home than outside. Last year, I felt incredibly hot. It was especially hot on weekends.
On weekdays, I was able to cope because I was indoors (at the office). The office I used to work in had air conditioning, which was quite helpful in the hot weather. So, the daytime wasn't as hot. Once, when I participated in a demonstration on a very hot day, what happened? My skin immediately darkened. It didn't improve until three months later.
So, what am I doing to deal with the heat? I thought about how incredibly hot Europe is. I started to imagine what I would do if that happened. And it seems I need to get used to the hot weather in Europe, especially since I'm going to study in Europe. So, I need to get used to this kind of weather.
In my boarding house, I don't have air conditioning. I only have a small fan, and luckily, my room has a window. Air conditioning and windows are my saviors when it's hot. When it's hot, I'll open the window a crack to let the breeze in. This really helps me cope with the heat.
Another thing I do is drink lots of cold water. Luckily, my boarding house has a refrigerator. It helps make ice cubes and cold water. This can temporarily alleviate the heat. However, drinking too much iced water isn't very good, as it can cause inflammation. So, be careful.
Another thing I do is find a cafe with air conditioning. I'll stay there for a long time, maybe all day, from morning until afternoon or evening. Note that if the heat is really bad, I'll do that. The heat is so intense that I can't stand being indoors.
It might cost me a lot to go out all day, but it helps me stay productive in hot weather. That's all I can share in this story. Do you guys experience the same thing? How do you cope? See you in the next story.
