If there’s one thing I’ve started to accept about Hive, on how to move forward is that Instead of overthinking what to write about, I’m deliberately looking for weekly prompts across the platform and just participating. I already know about roughly four different communities that consistently drop weekly or themed prompts, and honestly, that alone is more than enough content to stay active if I take it seriously.
Prompts just that makes things sooo much easier. You don’t start from zero and have to think of what to write, you’re responding and adding your own angles and perspective to the matter at hand. Because visibility on Hive, at least from what I’ve seen so far, isn’t just about posting, if you post sporadically without any direction, you are likely to be ignored. it’s about being seen within conversations and for me prompts naturally create that environment. Multiple people writing on the same theme, reading each other’s posts and also engaging back and forth. It’s a much easier entry point into the ecosystem(especially for newbies). That said, I don’t want to just rely on the prompts I already know. I’m genuinely open to discovering more. If there are other communities or accounts that run solid weekly prompts, I’d actually appreciate suggestions in the comment sections.
I also think commenting genuinely and not the lazy kind of comments that don’t add anything helps too. I’m talking about actual, meaningful engagement. The kind where you clearly read the post, have a thought about it, and contribute something real to the discussion. It takes more effort, yes. but it kinda also sets you apart almost immediately.
When you leave thoughtful comments, people notice and they recognize your profile name, they check out your profile, they respond , they might even curate on your posts and that’s how connections start forming and also there’s another layer that is curation.
If you have even a decent amount of Hive Power, curating becomes a powerful tool to get engagements and grow more. You build a kind of cycle there that makes sense when you think about it. Someone comments on your post, you acknowledge them, maybe even check out their content, and if it’s good then you curate it. That small action builds goodwill. Over time, that can naturally draw more people into your circle or posts
