Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Another new year is upon us, where many people go around making New Year's resolutions they don't even stand by. Many of us are guilty of having so many New Year's resolutions but only standing by them a few weeks or a few months into the year, and after that, we find ourselves going back to those old habits we wanted to drop off in the new year. Another new year is here, and many have made another New Year's resolutions and goals they plan to achieve in the new year, but trust me, only a few will stick to these goals and New Year's resolutions and see them through to the end, while many will realize that dropping off old habits and getting one's life together requires more than they can actually give.
Every new year requires that you reflect on the past year and from there decide how you will be living your life in the new year you just stepped into. A reflection on the past year can help you deduce how and where you got it wrong, and then in the new year you try to avoid making the same mistakes as you make the right adjustments to ensure the same mistakes you made in the past year that caused you to suffer or face difficulties are not repeated so you can experience a better year than the past year.
The goal of every individual is to make sure they have a better year than the previous one; that is how you grow. And one way to do that is by reflecting on the past year, pointing out where they got it wrong and where they got it right, where they are doing good that needs them to do better, and where they are doing bad that needs them to do good. Growth is one step at a time; you have to go from doing bad to doing good, from doing good to being the best. But many people make the mistake of wanting to skip steps to being the best.
This year I don't have much on my list of how I want to live my life. The first thing on my list is to stay consistent at everything and every journey I embark on this year. Staying consistent is really hard, but this year I am giving it a try, as I have realized that is the only way you get to see something through. If you don't stay consistent, you realize you have more abandoned dreams and abandoned projects than actual achievements.
I have also been battling with procrastination and feeling lazy to actually start working on a lot of things that will benefit me greatly, but this year I am willing to put in the work, insha'Allah. Most of the time my excuse was school, but now school is no longer in the way, so no more excuses. I have to start fighting against procrastination because it has taken a lot from me. This year I have to do better when it comes to procrastinating and postponing when to start.
