Hello, everyone.
I welcome you to my blog. Every day a new member steps into the hive space, a space that is not at all a bed of roses. The hive space is not one to be weak in; if you show signs of weakness in the hive space, then you will never thrive in the space. Every day I wish I had someone to tell me more about how to go on the Hive platform, what to do, and what not to do, but I had none, and it caused me to suffer lots and lots of ups and downs trying to find my way on the platform that looked quite difficult to navigate through.
As a newbie, you must have a lot of things at the back of your mind because if you fail to have those things at the back of your mind, you might end up feeling like the hive space did not accept you or you are being sidelined while others are enjoying the benefits of the platform. There are lots and lots of benefits that come with being on the Hive space, and the only way you can enjoy these benefits is when you stick with the Hive platform through thick and thin, but the truth remains that the number of newbies that stick with the platform after joining is way smaller compared to the number of newbies that quit the platform a few months after joining the space.
So if you are seeing this post and you just joined the platform, then here are a few pieces of advice for you:
Stay close to your onboarder or get an oldie to guide you: There are many newbies who feel the Hive space is one where they can thrive on their own but it becomes way harder compared to one who has someone guiding them. You can actually thrive on your own, but with an oldie (old user) guiding you, telling you how to go about things, what to do, what not to do, communities you can engage in, and the ones you should avoid, your chances of thriving in the Hive space increase by at least 70%.
Keep your keys safe: I have heard that misplaced keys can be recovered, but I still strongly doubt it because I have a few friends that lost their keys and, to date, are still struggling and trying to recover their lost keys. Instead of going through all that stress, why not just safeguard your keys and save yourself the stress?
Find your niche: There are so many communities on the Hive platform, and trust me, you cannot engage in all and thrive. Just find the ones that fit you, the ones that you know deep within you, you will engage in and never get tired of doing so. When you have a niche and engage in it consistently, you tend to get recognized by other engagers of the community, and that way you get supported.
Consistency and engagement: I will always tell people that the Hive platform is one that rewards loyalty, and one of the ways to show your loyalty to the Hive platform is by staying consistent while showing up every day and engaging with other users both on and off the blockchain (Discord or Twitter). Engagement gets you recognition, just like I said earlier, and once you are recognized, your chances of getting the support you need to thrive increase.
Last but not least, abide by and follow Hive rules: The Hive platform is one that takes rules very seriously, and you will not want to go against them because even being a newbie cannot save you from the consequences that will follow. Ask your onboarder or an oldie the rules of the platform, and follow and abide by them. A few standing rules include avoiding plagiarism and the creation of AI content.
