Its been an hectic week but i choose to be positive as a i go through the rest of the days.
Concerning this week's theme
I guess our responses and ways to heat adaptation is personal and i am glad to share mine with you.
I am not a fan of heat period because of many challenges i face during the heat.
Apart from laundry and having a dry environment, heat period has a whole lot of disadvantages.
Here are few things i do to deal with heat
Choice of clothes
During heat,the atmosphere is hot and it has a way of radiating this heat to our body
Most times i wear something comfortable,fabric such as light weight clothes.i avoid thicker fabrics and i also get intentional about the styles and designs.
I avoid styles with long sleeve, extremely long gowns
Over tight dresses, polythene dresses and dark colour dresses because it has the tendency to retain heat .
And i prefer cotton and light dresses.
- Choice of hair styles: I try as much as i can to choose a style which the hair does not have to be on my neck,i keep the style simple and short
During this periods,i avoid too much of attachment on my hair,i avoid some long,thick wigs or weavon.
- Food temperature:I easily go for meals that are not too hot.
- Hanging out areas: sometimes i go to the beach or i choose open areas with breeze.
And when i am at home, I make used of the fan and air condition.
Things i do to reduce the heat and to keep myself normal during the heat period.
- Hydration:
i take in alot of water to stay hydrated
-Cool shower:
During the period of heat,i battle more with heat rashes and they can be so irritating especially with excessive sweat,
I try to take a shower as often time as i can.
This act alone usually reduced how i feel the heat and it also reduces rashes.
These few tips i used has been helpful over the years
And i am still trying to adapt to it .
