We sometimes sit and wonder “what if”. One of these “what if” scenarios for me is having a thousand dollars, having ten thousand dollars, or having a million dollars. A thousand dollars is a huge amount of money, but in today's economy in my country, a thousand dollars might not do so much for you. The inflation that has set in on the country’s economy that seriously reduced the value of money, what a thousand dollar will do for you before the present government’s tenure, it wouldn’t come close now, even though a thousand dollars is more in naira now when converted because of the fall in value of the naira it is still worth less in comparison to what it could afford before now.

Although there are a lot of things one could do with a thousand dollars, ranging from investing in a business to investing in the stock market, spreading it across different stocks for yield, buying some personal needs, or going on a vacation.
If I had a thousand dollars right now, I would lend the thousand dollars to others for a short period at an interest rate which would be in the form of a business in order to grow the funds while living on the proceeds of the loan that I offer to others. Another option that will come in handy is to start up a poultry farm or a goat farm. I once was a farmer and had good experience with farming; I only lacked the market to sell my stock, and as such, the business wasn’t as profitable as it should have been.
To start this poultry farming or a goat farm, a thousand dollars will be sufficient for all that I will need to kick-start. A pen for the chicken and the goats amounts to stocking the pen with birds and goats, a running capital which will be used for their feeding, daily expenses for the farm, and staff salary. I might not be so sure about how I will put a thousand dollars to use at this time, but what I’m sure about is that a thousand dollars will surely change my life as it is; it could help me in so many ways that I can think of, even in the pursuit of love.
