Namaste everyone, happy weekend i believe our weekend is going smootly, this new prompt really talk about what im going through recently.........
To be honest, I consider myself healthy. I don’t really have body fat, and people always tell me I’m slim and I look fit already. But deep down, I know that being slim doesn’t always mean you’re fit, and that’s something I’m beginning to pay more attention to.
Before now, I didn’t really do much fitness activity. I would just go about my daily life walking, doing house chores, maybe climbing stairs once in a while, and I’ll tell myself I’m active enough 😅. But recently, I started noticing small things that made me question my fitness level. For example, I get tired quickly when I climb stairs or when I try to run small distance. That’s when it hit me that being slim is not the same as being strong or fit.
The funny thing is, a few weeks ago, they introduced a fitness program in my workplace. It started with a few people showing interest, and then the management decided to make it official. Every Friday morning now, we do 30 minutes of exercise before work begins. At first, I was shy to join, because I didn’t want to be jumping around in front of people. But I finally joined last week and let me just say, it opened my eyes.
We did simple exercises, stretching, squats, jogging in place, and some sit-ups. My legs were shaking after just 15 minutes! I was sweating like someone that ran 5 miles. That day, I realized how unfit I was inside, even though my body looks okay on the outside.
So now, I’ve made a personal decision. I want to stay fit intentionally, not just by looks. I’ve started doing some light home workouts in the morning just for 15 to 20 minutes. Nothing heavy. I use YouTube videos for beginners, and it has been helping me gradually,i go dey do as they do😀
Also, I’ve started watching what I eat a bit more. I drink more water now, and I avoid eating late at night. I won’t lie, I still eat my favourite foods like rice, spaghetti, and small chops especially at parties 😄, but I’m learning balance.
To me, being fit and healthy means feeling strong, being able to move freely without stress, and just feeling good in your body. It’s not about six packs or gym life. It’s just about caring for your body and building strength inside and out.
So yes, I think I’m healthy ,but I want to stay fit on purpose. Thanks to the fitness routine at work, I’m now more conscious of my body, and I’m taking small steps to improve.
We only get one body in this life, so why not take care of it?
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post,Enjoy the rest of your day
With Love
Hamidu Yetunde❤️🩷🧡
