This was a fun trial to write in our native language, Tamil, but a heavily accented one, unlike Bala, who knows pure Tamil.
The thing is I wanted this post to be a start to writing full-blown native language posts that I hope I can do as time progresses. It is hard to select google typewriter, type each word, and wait for the translation and correct spelling. Also, word count is an issue. So, I will try to find out from my friends about the right tool to write a bilingual post.
If you are from India, you will know what it is to reside in a state but belong to another and speak in yet another third language and also know English better than your own native language. Irony.
Sometimes, it is a laugh-or-cry situation because your accent is so different that the native speakers find your talk funny and you will not be taken seriously. Also, I do find it harsh when people from northern parts tease the southerners and classify them as 'Madrasis'. Chennai was known as Madras and all the people were known as Madrasis, especially in the movie industry. So, people did not even bother to study their geography textbooks and still do not know much about the southern states except for some tourist spots in the south of India. Funnily enough, foreigners know more about south India than many Indians themselves. Not something to be proud of, really.
I do hope people learn more about all the states of India and then try to discover foreign lands. This is true for all people including BTS fans.
