I can fully relate to this. I suggest that you start looking for a plot of land and then build two separate houses or a single house with an upstairs house. It's better than apartments that keep on extracting money for maintenance too. Also, please consult a vastu specialist for such plots. Praying to Lord Ganesh is also helpful.
