There is too much noise and distractions in this world. Out of many distractions I know, like gossip, friends, unnecessary drama, and all, social media is one of the greatest distractions I know. One thing I do to focus in this distracted world is determination and intentionality. Without these things, it's very difficult to stay focused.
If I am determined to do something, I will set a date or time that I want to finish that thing. This helps me to stay focused. I will put it in mind and think of the reason why I want to do this thing, because if there is no reason for something, it's very difficult to be determined about it. I will ask myself, what do I need this thing for? Why do I want to do this? If I know the reason, it will be easy for me to stay focused.
Whenever I want to be doing another thing instead of what I am supposed to be doing, I think of that reason and get back on track. For example, I always think that the reason why I want to make it in life and work hard is because of my mom, to help other people and to give my children the life I did have. So, thinking about this will always make me do more and not relent.
Another thing is intentionality. Without being intentional, it will be difficult to stay focused. I will be intentional about the thing I want to do. When I am being intentional, it will help me to cut all distractions. I prioritize my tasks and eliminate anything that might hinder my progress.
Another thing that is helping me is creating a timetable. Writing down the timetable for the next day with specific times, from this hour to that hour, I will sleep, this hour I will read, this hour I will go to social media, this hour I will go out. This has helped me a lot. Even if I want to pick up my phone at a time that's not scheduled, I will remember I have a timetable and I need to follow it so I can achieve what I need to do that day.
I also set goals I want to achieve for the week or month, and I write them down in a book. This helps me stay focused because I always remember I have a goal to achieve within a specific timeframe. By having a clear plan and schedule, I'm able to stay on track and make progress towards my goals.
Another thing is putting my phone on airplane mode if I don't want my phone to distract me. Because once I hear a beep on my phone, I will be eager to check what's happening. The best way to avoid this is to put my phone on airplane mode. By doing this, I can focus on my tasks without any interruptions.
Overall, staying focused requires discipline and commitment. But with determination, intentionality, and a well-planned schedule, I can achieve my goals and stay on track.
