Lately, I've been glued to so many applications on my smartphone, that you are likely to say "I'm confused about my favorite application right now" Well, to an extent you might be right.
If this particular question was asked some weeks ago, I would have said "WhatsApp" cause that's where I spend most of my time because it's very personal and has contacts of close people I care about. So what now changed? You are about to find out.
Before joining Hive, my onboarder would always tell me to "make friends with other hivers" to build my audience and recognition on the blockchain, the thing that came to my mind, was to comment on other authors' posts with the mindset of leaving a friendship request behind after the comment "don't laugh" hehe!!! And I'm laughing.
So after developing this mindset, I decided to execute the plan by being super friendly when commenting on other authors' posts, now the question is "Did I succeed?" Well, I did to an extent but then it wasn't the kind of friendship I wanted, I wanted the kind that the person in question would get to know more about me and vice versa.
Then someone introduced me to "Discord" Yeah!!! Thats my favorite application right there, the person introduced me to a community's discord channel, where I got to know a lot of hivers "That was the best experience" At first it was kind of difficult to engage with people's conversation when they are talking to others "might be rude right?", but then one thing I realized is that "these hivers don't snub" when you reply to their conversation, they will always reply you back.
Imagine you dropped a message on someone's chat and the person replies "Surprised with a smiley face, what happens next? "It leads to another conversation" just like the saying that goes "One conversation leads to another" Yeah!!! Thats how it is.
So my favorite application is "Discord" and I spend most of my time there, navigating, meeting amazing people, and sharing ideas with like minds, I've always wanted to be a great hiver, and this application has made me realize that my goal is achievable.
Through Discord, I've been able to learn how to be consistent on Hive, how to keep up with writing, and grow in it. I wanted to give up on my writing skills because I thought I wasn't good enough, writing wasn't something I wanted to do "Maybe that's not just my thing", but the amazing people I've met on Discord made me realize "I don't have to be perfect to be a writer". Not only that I also get to participate in different community hangouts.
Discord has brought a lot of amazing hivers into my life, people I thought I could never be close to merely looking from a distance but here I am, people I'm learning from as the days go by when I wake up in the morning, the first application I open is " discord" that's how glued I am to it, not because it's the best of applications but because of the amazing people I have met there.
