One thing about every good thing in life is that it also has a bad side. This is to emphasise that everything that brings improvement also has its disadvantages. In today's world, internet use is increasing all over the world, and because of that, it benefits us in many ways. When talking about social media, it helps us in terms of communicating with one another.
We also operate online banking and crypto wallets, where we keep our money digitally.

These accounts are purposely made for running transactions. For instance, we practise buying and selling goods and services online, trading cryptocurrencies, and making bill payments. Due to how everyone uses social media platforms and other internet services today because of how beneficial they are to us, the same thing applies to the risks behind them.
Nowadays, technology is improving and we are getting more exposed to artificial intelligence. One thing about each and every artificial intelligence system is that it is very capable and has the possibility of helping any of its users, whether the user is trying to solve a difficult problem or trying to create fake identities. And I believe this is where the biggest issue lies. It is not that artificial intelligence is bad, but because some people use it to hurt others, and that is one of the major tools most scammers use to achieve their goals.
It is very clear to me that scammers are everywhere, and they always change their methods all the time, especially when people start noticing and understanding what they mostly do. Then they change to a different method. To me, what I do in terms of trying my possible best to protect myself from falling victim to any kind of scam is to use a unique password for each of my accounts for security purposes. That means mixing letters and words and also adding special characters. I think that it is very difficult for any scammer to gain access to my account.
Again, I don't encourage anybody to use his or her name as a password because most scammers know at least 50% of your identity, and I don't think it is advisable for anyone to use his or her name as a password.
From my experience, I have also been contacted by scammers countless times on most of my social media accounts, especially Telegram, where they always pretend to be an admin or an investment representative. Most times they promise high returns and ask me to invest in a coin that I know nothing about.
There was a particular scammer who chatted with me and introduced himself as a forex trader. He told me that he could trade with my account and that we would share the profits he made with my funds 50-50. I noticed that this person was a scammer, but I pretended like I knew nothing about his real identity. As we proceeded, he started requesting that I send him my password and broker name. Lastly, when he noticed that I already knew he was a scammer, he blocked me.
Sometimes they try to convince me first before proceeding, and other times they try to gain my trust first. For example, sometimes I receive a message from a new user and they pretend to accidentally send me the message. From there, everything begins. So my advice to anyone reading this is that I don't see any good reason why you should give up to 50% trust to any user who contacts you first on any social media account. If you are chatting with any new user, never rush into anything, no matter how they try to pressure you. You should stay relaxed and think very clearly about whatever they are trying to tell you or convince you about before proceeding.
Anytime you receive a DM and the person immediately begins talking about investments, trying to introduce you to any kind of reward-earning opportunity, or promising you high returns on any kind of deal at all, you should immediately flag the person as a scammer. You can block the person or report them to the platform you are using.
In today's world, online scams are something that every one of us should take very seriously because the more careful and knowledgeable we become concerning scammers, the more we can help ourselves and society prevent major losses caused by scammers.
