Initially, my intention was to bring 200 birds for my 7th batch of birds to rear. But later changed my decision to bring in 150 birds due to some reasons and little adjustment. One of the main reasons why 7th batch was reduced to 150 birds from 200 birds of initial plan is weather, because of heat stress when they start growing,by the time they start growing the weather won't be friendly,a bit sunny which might cause heat stress and night choke them. Another thing is the inflation of price of goods and many more challenges.
So I reared the 150 birds for 10 good weeks. Sold some at frozen price at 6weeks while other sold at live price during festive period, then later sold the rest on scaling price; they were heavy,bony and weighty. At last, average of 4.3k love weight. So I just want to give update on the total expenses,loss and gain.
Total expenses.
The total expenses for the last batch of 150 birds concerning the price for the say old birds,the feeds, medication (vaccines) and the rest at expenses price of #374,350($898)
The total sales.
As I have said earlier,I sold some of the birds at 6 weeks on scaling price while others on live price. I made total sales of #508,315(1,129)
The loss
I lost 4 birds when they were 6 weeks to heat stress. Which at that time,they could be sold at #3,000($7) each,#12,000($28) in total.My pen was diseases free.
The total profit.
On my 7th batch of birds, I made total gain of #133,965(321) if you subtract the the total expenses which is #374,350($898) from the total overall sales #508,315(1,129).
