Fluted pumpkin leaf is widely known as ugu leaf with the name familiar with the Ibo tribe. The plant is widely popular in this part of the world, Western African part to be precised. In Nigeria, it familiarity is not only common in Ibo land but also in the southern and Western of Nigeria. I don't know maybe it's common the Hausa tribe but I am sure it's very popular in Nigeria at large.
The last I updated about my fluted pumpkin plants,I talked about the appearance of the big seed from the fluted pumpkin plant which had the shape of a pawpaw plant. Some part of the features of the The fluted pumpkin plants which is the big seed, it expansion pattern, fluted pumpkin plant also has some kind blossom flower botanically known as telfairiaa ocidentalis. There are said to be enormous male flowering blossom to just a single female flowering blossom as shown above. It's the many male flower that will pollinate the female reproductive flower at night.
The life circle of fluted pumpkin plant if well managed is 10 to 11 months.
