So, today made it the third week since my birds arrived and since I was late on their vacation schedule had to give them their second vaccine today which is the Lassota vaccine.
It is quite important and very necessary to give your birds this vaccine because these disease has no curable drugs it can only be prevented by a vaccine.
Although my birds are very healthy and strong I still had to give them these vaccine.
The vaccine are quite sensitive to temperature change, that if the temperature goes up the vaccine will lose it efficacy, so I have to get the vaccine very early this morning. The good thing is the vet shop isn’t too far from my place.
I had to withdraw water from my birds since yesterday evening and gave them enough dry feed so as to make them very thirsty when the eventually find water.
So, I had to dilute the vaccine in 4 litrs of their drinking water and also added some powdered milk to help with the chlorine concentration in the water before adding the vaccine.
This vaccine has to be given in a cool day so it’s either very early in the morning or late at night that will be preferable to administer this vaccine.
And after I gave the vaccinated water to the birds, I just allowed it their for 40min there after I pull the water out from them and allow them to drink normal water..
