Links to the original post and the story so far (in order) can be found in the Tale of Two Pizza's Collection Post
This weeks Tale of Two Pizzas rounded up a couple of different plots and moved the storyline forward on multiple fronts! Well done for wrapping up a few plotlines while keeping it exciting!
I have created a collection of posts to make it easier to manage and maintain the archive of all previous Tale of Two Pizzas entries that made it into our story and replaced the link to the former archive post. You can still find the Tale of Two Pizzas archive post with unsuccessful previous entries but I will no longer be going back to edit and update it now that we have the collection.
If you stop by the Scholar and Scribe Community you might find other collections of serial stories and posts starting to pop up as well as authors continue to expand their longer stories!
@wrestlingdesires/escape-from-slickville
wrote a great piece this week. Danny and Tolcetta and Delilah have found a sign that suggests other members of the Pizza Initiative are not far away. Henry and Rachel continue their escape from Slickville with the possessed Cyril in tow. Meanwhile back in the stables Amber made a subtle arrangement to ease her own escape once she had recovered.
I have sent the PIZZA and SBI your way! Well done!

Manzanilla and Picholine had been left to their own devices. The plump Italian was not impressed with his brothers welcome or the fact that he had swept up Tolcetta and that bedraggled young girl and taken off somewhere. The rest of the retinue had arrived from Port Town bearing the olives and cheering over the corpses of the bandits that the main group had crushed easily on the way to Danny's. Their arrival did little to cheer him up.
"Charlie!" He bellowed, "Where do you want the Olives? We've only brought them over the whole damn ocean, and now Danny's run off somewhere!" He huffed as Charlie took his time wandering over and said to Picholine under his breath. "When Danny gets back he better welcome us properly! After weeks at sea it is high time for a Pizza feast!"
"Manzanilla, have the olives unloaded directly into the kitchen! Danny instructed me to bake you and your men whatever pizza you want before he left. He appreciates you coming all this way! You and Picholine must tell me everything while I prepare the food myself! Danny will be back shortly, there was a time sensitive matter that he had to take care of!" Charlie grinned at the two of them and shook Manzanilla warmly by the hand and Manzanilla was slightly nonplussed by the warmth. He deflated somewhat and saw Picholine hiding an amused smile.
"We are very hungry Charlie, it has been a long journey, and we have been waiting for quite a while now!" Picholine stepped up and rested her hand on Manzanilla's shoulder. "We will accompany you to the kitchen- I must admit I cannot wait to try your famous pizza's. Though we make our own at home we don't have the variety of toppings available and usually make them napoletana. Make us your best and we will eat!"
"Get those olives down to the kitchen storeroom!" Manzanilla bellowed once more, this time at his men, as he was shepherded by Picholine and Charlie inside. "And when you are done it will be time to EAT!" He heard more cheering from his men as the three of them passed into the building and down to the kitchens.
Rapidly approaching home, Rachel and Henry were struggling to keep Cyril on the horse. The further they travelled from Slickville the more violent his thrashing and kicking had become. He had managed to wriggle out of the rope that Rachel had tied him to the horse with and nearly escaped. Thankfully he had knocked himself out in the fall, and Rachel and Henry had time to lash his arms and legs together securely before hoisting him back up onto the horse and continuing. It had not taken long before he had begun thrashing and groaning once more.
"Hurry Rachel!" Henry sounded worried. The possessed boy certainly showed inhuman strength, bucking against the bonds as he did. His eyes had changed color as well. Rachel could feel them boring into her from where he was lashed over the back of her saddle with Henry behind him. It was the only way they could keep him on the horse was sandwiched between them. They were both bruised from his relentless wriggling and convulsing.
"Not far now Henry, we are nearly home safe!" Bucephalus! What is in this boy? I know you know! She thought to her faithful companion.
Something that should not be. Answered the horse, Rachel could sense strain in the reply. He had never faltered before, never shown any sign of tiredness or exhaustion in the years that they had been together. I will tell you everything once he is locked safely in Danny's cells!
They were cantering along the road now, though the encircling wall and estate itself were still out of sight around the bend that only days before the now deceased Pizza Bandits had attempted to use in their ambush. Bucephalus leapt over the tree that still partially blocked the road despite the weight of three passengers. If anything he seemed to be picking up speed despite his tiredness.
Within moments they were at the gate which opened immediately in front of them. The guards knew Rachel well, and knew what to do when she approached at a gallop. The gates slammed shut behind them and the guards shouted orders to double the watch. As Bucephalus maintained the manic pace through the little houses and rows of solar panels up the small hill to Danny's manor house Rachel was shocked to find a disturbing and hissing whisper resonating within her mind.
Yesss, YES! Good guards! Lock us all in together nice and tight! Keep us safe from what's outside! YESSS! But what about what is now locked inside with you?
The rules for this week remain the same as previous weeks!
I'd like to continue building on the story of the Pizza Baron and his post apocalyptic world. Each week I'll pick a winner that becomes the next piece of the story and wins 20 $PIZZA and a 2 SBI sponsorship from me. I may award additional prizes if I feel multiple entries expand the story well.
Each week I'll write a post announcing the winner and then I will write another chunk of the story and open it up again for the next weeks competition. I'll compile the winning entry for each week. If we reach a conclusion of the epic tale of the Pizza Baron I'll divide another TBD amount of PIZZA among all the winning entries throughout the whole story and publish the finished story here on Hive with all the contributors as beneficiaries. If this goes well we might have the first open source blockchain novella on our hands! 😂
The first weeks contest established a secondary storyline that may be tied back into the main plot if you so wish!
Bear in mind this is an experiment as well as a competition so we will see how many entries I get and how well it goes!
Rules:
Entries must be more than 200.
Entries must use the hivepizza and scholarandscribe tags.
Entries must comment on this post with the link to their entry
Entries must fit in the world/scenario that has developed from the previous weeks contest(s). You are free to develop characters, introduce new ones, invite aliens to the feast, I don't care as long it makes some kind of sense in the context! The Pizza Baron should remain relevant to the plot!
(I've named it a Tale of TWO Pizza's for a reason HINT HINT)
