Fell Dragon
Greetings Readers
I hope your week has had a marvelous start, and if not, then I hope it gets better from here on out!
The start of this week hasn't been too bad. I am still working on the homesteading book and have come to realise the sheer amount of work goes into the researching of going off the grid before moving to a homestead. Interesting to say the least.
Anyway, let's continue with Part 3 for Book 2 of Fell Dragon. It isn't a huge update, but I couldn't justify adding the next section in and making it too long to read. I do; however, think this update is emotional enough with adding another section in. I hope you all enjoy.
Just a friendly reminder that this isn't child friendly as there are dark tones that surface now and again.
Saita clutched at her head while rocking back and forth. She had been cleaned and dressed in light clothing, but she felt hot and sick. Her head felt like it was going to explode. She wanted to scream, but all that came from her lips was a moan. She remembered nothing after the doctor had threatened to hurt her. Just pain and sickness. She lowered her arms and saw the tendrils of black upon her upper arms; they hurt. It felt like someone was pushing hot pins under her skin.
She couldn’t remember what had happened, but she knew she had snapped, and attacked the doctor. She had encased him in a bubble of energy and bounced him around until his brain had bled from his ears. Then she slammed his head into the tree until nothing remotely human remained of him. The assistants had fled for their lives, and she was sure if the Lizards had searched a little harder, they would have found their remains as well.
She looked at her shaking hands and formed fists. It felt like her bones were on fire, and she was exhausted. It felt like those two things had something to do with each other. The longer she sat in this room the harder her head started pounding as if someone was actively hitting it with a hammer. She gripped at it with both hands, begging the pain to stop. The pounding only stopped when someone touched her arm. This was not a cold touch. This wasn’t a lizard. This was warm. This was a human. She knew this, but she didn’t know how but she knew. Warm life force surrounded her, and for the first time in days the pain receded a little, and she almost wept in relief.
“Does that help?”
Her head snapped up as she recognized the voice. The face before her was a little older, and the eyes shone with uncertainty, but she knew that face. She knew that voice.
“Doran.” She whispered.
The man before took a broken breath and said in a voice heavy with tears. “Saita.”
He hugged her, pressing her hard to his body. Not willing to let her go ever again. He could not cry now, not as the girl, no, woman, he held in his arms suddenly burst into tears and gripped him as if she believed that he would disappear.
“I’m here.” He whispered as he patted her back. “I’m here.”
“I don’t remember anything, and I hurt.” She whispered, her fingers digging into his shirt. “Everything burns and I don’t know why.”
“We’ll figure it out.” He whispered. “Gods…”
He wasn’t swearing because of the four years that had been taken from her. He was swearing because he could see now the extent of what was happening in her body with his secondary ability. He didn’t understand it though. A series of discs and wires ran from major organs and parts of her body from her head to about her knees. He wasn’t sure if this was the design of the so-called system or if it was incomplete. He pulled away to look at her face. She was older and seemed unscarred, but he knew better. He had seen that scalpel slice into her. He knew that under her shirt she was covered in surgical scars. Thinking about it made him tear up, and he pulled her into another bone-crushing hug.
“You should have let me help you.” He hissed.
After a while, she whispered. “I should have.”
“How long has she been here?” Demanded Doran after he left Saita in the room alone.
“Three days. I needed to be sure of who she was before I sent the letter.” Said Saseric.
“She is starving, and so thin. Why haven’t you fed her?”
“Go offer her food.” Said the Lizard. “She has refused everything we have offered. She also doesn’t sleep. Not at all. Just rocks back and forth pulling at her hair.”
“She is in agony. I don’t fully understand it, but whatever was implanted into her is…”
“Creating excess energy.”
“How…?”
“Those marks on her skin? They are not tattoos, as we first thought. They are pure, crystallized energy. They are growing under her skin. Whether it is the excess energy or the crystallization process, it is hurting her.” Saseric then frowned. “There was something I didn’t tell you. Something that happened when we first found her.”
“I couldn’t give a damn. Saita is alive. When her father finds out…”
“He is going to use her like a weapon.” Said the Lizard Lord. “Doran, she tore the arm off of one of my best guardsmen. She dislocated the arm and ripped it off with her teeth. She is not the little brawler you knew in the past. Whatever she had been designed to do, to be, she is it now. She is a weapon, a super soldier. I regret telling Kiai the name of the creature I suspected Edzeeker to be. Now Karesh is warring against their allies right now. He will turn her on them, and you will have a far bigger problem on your hands when she slips her leash.”
“I can’t keep this from her parents.”
“I’m not saying that. I’m saying you need to consider which parent you are going to tell first.” Said the Lizard softly. “She is confused and terrified. She needs time to adjust. She has no idea how long she has been gone. I sure as hell haven’t dared to tell her.”
“What of the doctor?”
“She killed him. Bounced him around like a ball before crushing his skull.”
“Can we have the information on what was done to her?”
“I will give you what we have found.”
“What of Edzeeker?”
“We didn’t see him or find any trace of him. He delivered the girl to that monster, and he is likely to return for her in due time. She is not going to be left alone. He will come for her.”
“This time we have his weapon.”
Saseric had stood next to the shaking Saita as she waited for Doran to return from getting them transport back to their planet. There was an intense fear of being taken again but she said nothing as she nervously glanced around the people gathered in the spaceport.
“Saita.” Said Saseric softly.
She flinched and spun to look at him.
“I am here. If you ever feel that you need to run, to hide, think of my planet as yours.”
“You have done so much already.” She whispered, not meeting his gaze.
“You risked much for me when you were a child. Allow me to repay it in kind.”
“You saved my life.”
“No, you did that yourself. I only came to get you. I am here if you need my help.”
“Thank you.” Was all she could whisper as Doran re-joined them.
“We plan to stop at Myla’s planet first, and from there, we will plan.” Said the soldier as he draped his jacket over the woman’s shoulders when he noticed her shivering. “I will ask for the data to be sent to Jarah first. He will decide what the Queen can see or not.”
“Doran, look after her. Don’t let her go this time.”
The man squeezed the young woman to his body and muttered. “Next time, they will have to succeed in killing me.”
Easy enough to promise, Doran, but can you keep it? I guess you'll need to to continue reading to see if he does.
For those of you just joining us, please note that this is the follow on book from Fell Dragon. Here is the link to that book:

As the series continues, it will combine with another book series I wrote. To avoid confusion about what is happening, introductory chapters will be introduced separately so that you don't have to be lost. However, these chapters will contain spoilers. You can find these chapters here:
