Greetings.
This is the fourth installment of my Spontaneous Poesy series. As always, I am not preparing anything in advance, improvising as the inspiration comes...
As an extra twist, I thought I should use
12 sylllables per line (Alexandrines)
Let us commence!
"I am thankful for the company of my cats
without whom solitude would be overbearing
I love them both dearly, they are close to my heart
I cannot imagine from them separating
We belong together my familiars and I
they bring me so much joy beyond words I can speak
even when I feel a compelling urge to cry
in their presence things never seem to be so bleak
They are at times playful and other times sleepy
either hunting their toy or purring on my lap
I 'm blessed to find myself in their proximity
they provide limitless energy I can tap
I understand why Egyptians deemed them sacred
because they both are as precious as that to me
guardians of my immortal soul consecrated
they prepare my journey into infinity
In the meantime I remain in this existence
bettering myself until I meet Anubis
under all the dedicated loving guidance
of Bastet's own children leading me into bliss"
