Our cooking gas finished and we had no option than to use the charcoal stove.
After we finished cooking, the pot was all black as a result of the smoke and I needed to make my pot white again. I tried using detergent but it didn't come out really clean. Someone suggested I used sand but I felt it would be too hard on my pot and probably, cause it to have holes.
While I was thinking of giving up and accepting the colour of the pot, a neighbour advised, "use the ashes from the fire." I wondered how ordinary ashes could bring about any change but I still went ahead to try it. To my greatest surprise, my pot came out clean; the ash was so smooth on my palms and it just went so smoothly.
I was happy.
Then, it got me thinking: "Oh, wow. The cure is really in the disease."
Many times, the answers we are looking for are already in the questions that we're being asked but because we can't look into it deeply, we are unable to see them.
I once read a fictional story of a doctor who believed that the mind has the ability to heal itself. She took time to study the destruction of unforgiveness; you know, when a person hurts as a result of mistakes he made or what someone did to him, it affects his mind and he is unable to forgive. Instead, he holds on to the pains or guilt, thereby causing further destruction in his mind.
This doctor grew up, watching her mother suffer from bitterness and she saw how the pain in her heart lingered. She had seen many patients suffer the same pain and because of how much she hated this feeling, she decided to find a way to put it to an end.
After holding therapy sessions with the patients, they experienced a mind shift. As they discussed more in the mysteries of forgiveness, they were able to discover results. Patients who were held back by their past, patients who had resentment towards their family members were able to let go of those pains and they began to experience healing, not just emotionally but also physically.
So, you see, the many things that you are struggling with has their cures inside of them. You just have to look deeply.
I hope you enjoyed reading this.
