April 25 of HiveBloPoMo and the prompt is - Find a freewrite prompt and write for 5 minutes
As you know by now, I am taking a very loose approach to these prompts. So, instead of 5 minutes of writing, I did 5 minutes of searching. What did I search for? Well, I mentioned in a previous post when the prompt actually was
Haiku
That I did try my hand on writing haikus a little while back. And I think now is as good as any time to share them. So, here goes...
Scent of magnolias' new bloom
Spring - is it here now?
covering the grass
Spring is gone
Grass covered in white
Petals died
Light, surrounded by shadows
Summer is close - soon
I wrote these exactly at a time like now. Spring. I was sitting on our balcony
watching the white petals float through the air in the wind. The first and last haikus are written in traditional 5-7-5 format whereas the middle two are modern 3-5-3. I hope you don't hate them.
Here are some magnolia and cherry or other blossoms to go along with the haiku.
And with that - I hope you'll have a fabulous rest of your day!
Cheers,
