I've got to be honest, your whole pg13 thing is truly idiotic. I thought the same when i wrote Red Days series (which was disqualified yet was easily among the 5 best pieces written for that fantasy writing initiative), and i think the same now that the person who reviewed my series has probably been excluded.
I'm among the best 10 fiction writers on hive, and I've now been advised by 4 different industry professionals (two successful authors & 2 agents) not to put any of my fiction on hive.
I'm currently sat watching southpark, do you think that show could be anywhere near, one of, if not the best satirical comedic productions to come out of America in the last 15 years if it was PG 13?
I'm not making this comment to be contrary or controversial, but I am making it to make a prevalent point - this is hive, It's meant to be a place where censorship is not the mainstay, where PC politics isn't the 'norm'.
I get that you've created a 2nd layer on top of hive, but i feel you're doing your platform a disservice by trying to fit in with a PG13 standard, unless some of the dreemport founders are literally giving their children free reign to read anything on the dreemport platform?
You would be much better off stating some strict rules about no graphic scenes of rape, violence, torture etc.
But even then, GRR Martin is arguably the best modern day fantasy author and he broke all those rules.
If you want quality authors on hive, they both have to be given creative liberty and decent rewards... Or this place will remain a wasteland of echo chamber SplinterLand posts, or speculative crypto posts that are wrong 50% of the time, and a limited audience will ultimately mean no mainstream adoption.
P.s. I think it's worth mentioning that when i returned to hive i spent a week curating and commenting on posts each day on dreemport. I'd average each of my comments included 3 paragraphs minimum, reasonably insightful, based on the post the author had written (that i read 100% all the way through). I would average 80% minimum of the comments i received on the posts i submitted to dreemport were 2 sentences, usually along the lines of "That was amazing, a really liked your picture of the beach."
Spam.
That's when i stopped using dreemport. I think you have a big problem with spam, and if we're talking genuine engagement, value for value, i ran a mile within a week.
