Recently I viewed a webinar put on by Generations entitled "Harry Potter vs Huck Finn vs Pilgrims Progress." It was a webinar discussing what Christians should spend their time studying in homeschool. It was interesting and I'll include the link to the replay in this post if you're interested in seeing it.
Generations is a website that sells Christian books and has information about homeschooling. They put on different webinars during the year.
I learned a lot from the webinar including a list of books I had never considered reading. I have since started adding some of these books into our homeschool days.
We recently read a book they recommended called The Sunshine Country and it was really good. I highly recommend it if you're a Christian parent. You can also get a free copy of it here (epub) or I have a free pdf version if you would like me to send it to you (I haven't been able to find it again).

I went through their list of books and wrote down which ones we had, where others could be found free, and if they were read on YouTube. I also made a public playlist of some of the recommended books on YouTube that you can find here if you're interested. They also have 93 edifying stories in a handy pdf.
