Hola mis estimados amigos de Home Edders, papás y agentes educativos, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un tema que es muy importante en la vida de todos las personas y que debe ser desarrollado desde niños, el pensamiento crítico.

Critical thinking is composed of the ideas, judgments and opinions that people have about what surrounds us, about an event, event, reading and even about other people or ourselves. This critical thinking has a neurological basis in the development of rational logical thinking and reaches its maximum expression when we are able to express our ideas in a coherent way, with a narrative thread and support.
El pensamiento crítico se compone de las ideas, juicios y opiniones que las personas tenemos respecto a lo que nos rodea, a un suceso, evento, lectura e incluso de las otras personas o de nosotros mismos. Este pensamiento crítico tiene una base neurológica en el desarrollo del pensamiento lógico racional y alcanza su máxima expresión cuando logramos expresar nuestras ideas de forma coherente, con un hilo narrativo y sustento.
This thinking is also directly related to our system of values, culture and elements that make up the society where we live day by day. Now, it is really necessary that children learn from an early age to have a critical thinking, so that they can generate their own impressions, concepts and positions of everything in their lives, a person with critical thinking can hardly be deceived or convinced to do or accept something that goes against their principles, in this case this thought is established beyond good and evil, it is a deep explanation from my inner self of what I believe and consider about something.
Este pensamiento también se relaciona directamente con nuestro sistema de valores, cultura y elementos que conforman la sociedad donde nos desenvolvemos día a día. Ahora bien, es realmente necesario que los niños aprendan desde pequeños a tener un pensamiento crítico, para que puedan a partir del generar sus propias impresiones, conceptos y posturas de todo en su vida, a una persona con pensamiento crítico difícilmente se le puede engañar o convencer de hacer o aceptar algo que vaya en contra de sus principios, en este caso este pensamiento se establece más allá del bien y el mal, se trata de una explicación profunda desde mi yo interior de aquello que creo y considero respecto a algo.

I faithfully believe that if we encourage the development of critical thinking from an early age we will have fewer disoriented adolescents and adults, incapable of establishing a coherent conversation, with better human relations and their environment as well as with a deep sense of responsibility and respect for life. It is through critical thinking that we can make our own decisions, we can reflect and reason about a problem to find the solution, that is why our children should develop it from a very early age.
Creo fielmente que si desde niños propiciamos el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico tendremos menos adolescentes y adultos desorientados, incapaces de establecer una conversación coherente, con mejores relaciones humanas y todo su entorno así como con un profundo sentido de la responsabilidad y del respeto a la vida. Es a través del pensamiento crítico como logramos la toma de decisiones propias, podemos reflexionar y razonar sobre un problema para encontrar la solución por eso nuestros niños deben desarrollarlo desde muy temprana edad.
Some of the activities we can consider for the development of critical thinking are simple and can be done as a family:
Algunas de las actividades que podemos considerar para el desarrollo del pensamiento crítico son sencillas y las podemos hacer como familia:
-Reading news in the newspaper or news portals and then discuss them with the children. In this activity we can locate simple news and as the child raises his cognitive level we will look for news with more depth and that require further analysis, with this we can show them the different positions and ideas on the same topic that may exist.
-Lectura de noticias en el periódico o portales informativos y luego comentarlas con los niños. En esta actividad podemos ubicar noticias sencillas y a medida que el niño vaya elevando su nivel cognitivo nosotros iremos buscando noticias con mayor profundidad y que requieran de un mayor análisis, con esto podemos mostrarles las diferentes posturas e ideas sobre un mismo tema que pueden existir.
-Watch movies, documentaries, series, TV programs that serve to teach us about different cultures and ways of life. With this activity we show our children that our world is much more than the environment in which we find ourselves and that not everyone thinks alike but that all people, animals and ecosystems must be respected. Deepen cultural issues in an entertaining way so that our children can develop a global thinking.
-Ver películas, documentales, series, programas de tv que sirvan para enseñarnos diferentes culturas y formas de vida. Con esta actividad mostramos a nuestros hijos que nuestro mundo es mucho más que el entorno en el cual nos encontramos y que no todos piensan igual pero que a todas las personas, animales y ecosistemas hay que respetarlos. Profundizar en temas culturales de manera entretenida de modo que nuestros pequeños puedan ir desarrollando un pensamiento global.
-Reading stories, poems and books that are entertaining for children and go little by little as with the news increasing a more complex reading level. Reading is a wonderful way to make our thinking rise to higher levels through them we get to know different topics and we can create our own judgments in addition to strengthening the vocabulary.
-Lectura de cuentos, poesías y libros que sean entretenidos para los niños e ir poco a poco como con las noticias incrementando un nivel de lectura más complejo. La lectura es una forma maravillosa de hacer que nuestro pensamiento se eleve a niveles superiores a través de ellas logramos conocer diferentes temas y podemos ir creando nuestros propios juicios además de fortalecer el vocabulario.
-Debates, although it seems that this strategy is intended for schools, debates are the best way to get the little ones to express the arguments they have on a topic and if they do not have them, we help them to create them themselves. In the family we can establish the debate as a means of conflict resolution or for making decisions about things that affect family life and in which we include the little ones, such as having a pet (I think this is the debate we have all had at home), changing the color of a room, decorating and even things of a higher order such as deciding on a vacation or even moving. Any topic is a good place to show our children how to develop valid arguments considering the benefits and consequences of the same.
-Los debates, aunque pareciera que esta estrategia está destinada a las escuelas, los debates son la mejor forma de hacer que los más pequeños logren expresar los argumentos que tienen sobre un tema y si no los tienen los ayudamos a que ellos mismos logren crearlos. En familia podemos establecer el debate como un medio de resolución de conflictos o para la toma de decisiones de cosas que afectan la vida familiar y en las cuales incluimos a los pequeños como por ejemplo tener una mascota (creo que este es el debate que hemos tenido todos en casa) cambiar el color de una habitación, decorar y hasta cosas de orden superior como decidir unas vacaciones o hasta mudarnos. Cualquier tema es propicio para mostrar a nuestros hijos a desarrollar argumentos válidos considerando los beneficios y consecuencias de los mismos.
These strategies are just some of the many that we can use to develop critical thinking in our children, nowadays I see with concern how young people behave as a group of automated beings whose decisions are based on what others think or believe about even their own lives, if we really want to provide our children with the tools to achieve a wonderful future we must encourage critical thinking in them.
Estas estrategias son apenas algunas de las muchas que podemos emplear para desarrollar el pensamiento crítico en nuestros hijos, en la actualidad veo con preocupación cómo los jóvenes se comportan como un grupo de seres automatizados cuyas decisiones se basan en lo que otros piensan o creen respecto incluso de sus propias vidas, si realmente queremos brindarle herramientas a nuestros hijos para que logren tener un futuro maravilloso debemos fomentar en ellos el pensamiento crítico.
