We grew up as kids watching action movies, back then it was a whole lot of fun. Staying around people you love so many people on the same level. Even though some of the kid's parents are wealthier, there was never a time when that was put into consideration. We all went to the same school.
My Dad was one of the wealthiest among my parents then he owned a 504 Peugeot then. And in our sitting room was a black and white television. We always had a crowd in our room to watch movies as it was just my Dad and our landlord that owned a television.
We watched so many action movies, such as Commando, Rambo and the likes of it.
We do not only watch but we end up extending what we watch on a black and white screen into reality as we all go out to play the actor and boss war.
The actor is on the winning side while the boss is on the losing side.
We use sticks to construct guns of different types. Everyone constructs him to his taste. All these are done just to make the neighborhood lively.
We move to an incomplete building so we will not disturb the peace of our mothers as the play will be full of noise.
Sounds of guns via our mouth, you hear stuff like grrrrrrrrrre, puin puin pain, gaga and so many sounds just like we used to hear from the movies we watch.
Of all the numerous plays this is the one I find more interesting and feel I can share. These went on until we grew into what we are now looking at how modernisation took over with video games and now phones have taken over it no longer in reality but now happens on screen.
My childhood was fun and if it can be reversed I will still love to play as it brings about more love and care and the bond has kept us together even to date.
Thanks for bringing up such an interesting topic.
Though I came across it late and couldn't post within the valid period but just feel I should share it with my wonderful people.
