El objetivo de esta publicación es brindarles algunas ideas e incentivarlos a crear sus propios recursos y adaptarlos a los diferentes temas, así como a las necesidades cognitivas de sus pequeños.
Blessed day dear teachers and parents. In this new publication I share with you some ideal didactic resources to use with your children in teaching new vocabulary in English. This week's topic is marine animals or animals that live in the ocean.
The objective of this publication is to give you some ideas and encourage you to create your own resources and adapt them to the different topics, as well as to the cognitive needs of your little ones.
Por lo general los niños siempre responden muy bien a este ejercicio previo. Son muy espontáneos y siempre tienen cosas que decir respecto a los temas, en especial si se trata de animales.
To introduce the topic, the first thing I do is to show the children a picture with some marine animals and start asking them several questions about what they see in the picture. This allows me to explore a little bit their previous knowledge and stimulate their curiosity and interest towards the topic.
Usually the children always respond very well to this preliminary exercise. They are very spontaneous and always have something to say about the topics, especially if it is about animals.
After listening to their concerns, it is time to introduce them to the new vocabulary we are going to learn in this session. With the vocabulary sheets we do "listen and repeat" exercises to practice pronunciation and memorize the new words.
The next step is to work on each word separately using flash cards. There are many games that can be done with these flash cards, that is why for me they are very important. The flash cards are also the visual material that I use to create the interactive activities in the Educaplay platform.
Los ejercicios que tienen audios en Inglés son muy importantes para que los niños comiencen a adaptar su oído a sonidos diferentes a los de su lengua materna. Al principio se comienza con escucharlos y reconocer estos sonidos, pero al cabo de un tiempo no solo los reconocen, sino que los comprenden y emiten una respuesta.
In order to reinforce listening and pronunciation we do "Listen and select" exercises on the LiveWorkSheets platform, in addition to listening and singing songs that we find on You Tube referring to the topic we are working on.
The exercises that have audios in English are very important for the children to begin to adapt their hearing to sounds different from those of their mother tongue. At first they start by listening to them and recognizing these sounds, but after a while they not only recognize them, but also understand them and make a response.
The next step is the interactive activities that are created on the Educaplay platform. These activities allow the children to put into practice the knowledge acquired with the previous activities. They can evaluate themselves which vocabulary has already been assimilated and which words need to be reinforced.
Con estas actividades terminamos nuestro tema y los estudiantes quedan con muchas energías y mucha curiosidad para abordar un nuevo tema.

Finally, as a reinforcement activity for after class, I am sending you a pdf with the vocabulary we worked on and some activities to print and play. In this case we have a game of memory cards to cut out and play and a word search.
With these activities we finish our topic and the students are left with lots of energy and a lot of curiosity to tackle a new topic.
