Mi publicación de hoy está dedicada a aquellos padres que tienen la noble labor de brindarle educación en casa a sus pequeños. Hoy les quiero compartir algunos recursos que pueden ser útiles al momento de enseñar un nuevo idioma. En este caso particular en la enseñanza del idioma Inglés.
En esta oportunidad les muestro cómo pueden abordar la enseñanza de los días de la semana.
Blessed day, friends, teachers and parents.
Today's post is dedicated to those parents who have the noble task of educating their children at home. Today I want to share with you some resources that can be useful when teaching a new language. In this particular case in teaching English.
In this opportunity I show you how you can approach the teaching of the days of the week.
I would like to start by saying that on the web we can find an infinite number of resources for our children to learn a new language. However, it is often overwhelming to choose the right material. As parents and teachers we must be careful to review in advance what we are going to show our children. One of the objectives of my project "Happy Learning Kids" is to make a compilation of existing activities on the web organized by themes, in addition to creating our own activities. In this post I share with you some of the activities that you can work with your children according to this theme.
The first thing I share with you is the vocabulary sheet. This sheet has been created in Canva and I use it to introduce new vocabulary to my students. With this sheet we can see how the words of the topic are spelled and we also do pronunciation exercises. I usually try to make my vocabulary sheet have a nice and attractive design for the kids. In my online classes I share my screen with the information. Some students copy the vocabulary into their notebooks, others I send a pdf with the information so they can print it out and read it whenever they want.
Song
To complement and reinforce the vocabulary, I show you some You tube videos with songs related to the topic. This allows us to practice pronunciation and facilitates memorization in a more fun way. The kids always like the part of the class where we sing and have fun.
Once they are familiar with the new vocabulary, I introduce the sentences, which allow me to explain the use and function of this vocabulary in our everyday language. The idea is to give them an example and encourage them to formulate their own sentences.
To reinforce the knowledge acquired during the class, I share with you some practical and interactive exercises from two platforms that I really like and that the children like as well. One of them is Educaplay, which I have talked about before. This platform allows me to create my own activities and gives students the opportunity to evaluate what they have already learned through its dynamics that are scored and graded.
The other platform is called Liveworksheet and it is a huge bank of homework sheets for many subjects. In this platform I have not participated as a creator, but I do evaluate and select the most convenient and suitable activities for my students. What I like most about this site is that its activities cover writing, reading, listening and pronunciation.
In this way that I have shown you in this publication I develop my classes with my youngest students and I can say that it has given me a lot of results. This has been my humble contribution to the community. I hope it is useful for you and we continue learning and sharing. Thank you very much for reading, greetings and blessings.
