Hello everyone ❤
Valentine's Day is just two days apart and I already told you I'll be back with another round of learning activities for Valentine's Day so here I am!
As I mentioned in my previous post, all these activities were made two years ago, when Caleb was two.
All these learning activities are meant to develop some skills in little children like creativity, concentration, patience, fine motor skills, color recognition etc.
Here you can see my first post with some more fun activities like the ones I'll be sharing with you today.
I hope you'll enjoy!
Handprint Art Canva
You need a canva or a regular white paper for this. Also, you need some acrylic paint. Maybe it works with watercolors too, I dont know exaclty because I didnt try to use them on canvas.
I like to do such activities because I keep them to our memory box.
These little cute hands! 💓💓
Pom Pom Hearts
This is mostly to work on those fine motor skills.
You can also do color recognition with this activity but I only focused on putting the pom poms on the paper.
However, if you'd like to insist on color recognition skills, just color the dots with the colors of pom poms and the kid would have to associate them on the paper.
I think they turned out really beautiful!
In the end, Caleb wanted to use his wooden little toys on this.
Watercolors Paper hearts
This is another one to work on fine motor skills because it involves using the dropper.
What we did here was to cut some heart shaped napkins and then use the dropper to color them.
I had a mix of water with watercolors.
The paper absorbs the liquid so it was fun for Caleb to see how a drop of color spreads.
He was still little back then but he clearly enjoyed it.
Match the colors, patterns and number
I dont have any other photos for this activity, I only have videos.
But it's simple activity for color matching, numbers and patters.
Caleb did these all, perfect 100%.
The videos are to long to convert them in gifs so you'll have just to believe me.
I colored some colored hearts, on both side and he traced the lines from one heart to another, same color. Red to red, blue to blue.
It's the same with patterns and number association.
Finger Print Hearts
Another art piece we did was to create some hearts by using our finger prints.
It was so fun! Ohh these cute little fingers! I miss them so much!
Heart Shapes
I had two recycling paper rolls to create these shaped hearts.
And then we used them to create a few heart shapes on the paper, make something looking like a piece of art.
Caleb enjoyed it a lot. He was so eager to see new shaped hearts on the paper, it was a bit funny. His face expression was of full excitment and concentration.
Painting Hearts
And last, I gave him this piece of paper on which I colored a few hearts. And he had to paint them.
Painting was his second love back then, after numbers.
He used to paint so beautiful and be careful to details. Sometimes I get the impression he painted better at two years than now, at four, when sometimes he's making all in a rush.
Well, that would be all with this Valentine's Day.
Do you celebrate it? I can't say we do now, but we used to celebrate it before, ten years ago. 😁
I hope you can see how many opportunities there are by doing these activities and why not, try them at home with your little ones?
Take care and wish you a wonderful day!
Love, missdeli 💓💓
