Sad news about unschooling appeared some days ago.
The government supported the initiative about total control over unschooling kids. Officials want make parents and kids pass exams and tests every year.
What do we have now?
Now in Russia unschooling is alive. There are different ways to choose the alternative education for your kid - parents can "stick" the kid to a school for passins exams every year but it's NOT obligatory.
It's a RIGHT, not a DUTY.
There is a definite law in the Constitution that protects parents right to choose the form of education and the way of its control.
Every year some officials make tries to press unschooling families and make them be a part of the general system. If not in the way of education but at least in the way of control over such kids.
In fact it means not just tests evry year, it means the death of unschooling in general! and that's a big problem and alarm for all families who choose freedom in education of their kids.
Tests every year mean a kid will follow the standard school program, studying the same subjects using the same books.
But what about parents who are against it?
They don't have a right to choose?
It's not a law still, so parents try to fight and write emails to officials making this problem loud and open, showing their protest against such changes.
I hope parents reply will be vivid enough not to take this law.
I don't wanna lose my son's freedom and unschooling that has become our way of life.
