Personally, I think that HBD interest should be considered a major drain on the reward pool.
We had been paying over $100,000 a month in interest on the staked HBD. That is about 1.5 million virtual HIVE. People have been converting over $100,000 virtual hive into hive.
The HBD interest gets dumped on the market in down cycles which puts a downward pressure on the price of HIVE
The rewards pool pays people for curating and producing content. The HBD interest doesn't really do anything for the ecosystem.
