Back on Hive: A New Year Reset
It’s been a long while since I’ve posted anything here, so I figured the first day of the New Year is as good a time as any to try hopping back into the groove.
I’ve been lurking, upvoting content, and leaving the occasional comment… but for most of the year, I just didn’t have it in me to fully embrace this place that’s felt like a comforting second home ever since I discovered it back in 2018. I had nothing positive to share, so I retreated.
2025 was, to put it mildly, challenging — one of the most difficult years I’ve had in recent memory for a variety of reasons. I needed to step back, lick my wounds, wallow in a bit of self-pity, and avoid dragging the world down with my gripes, anger, frustration, and sadness.
I’ll be honest with you all: I’m by no means past it. I’m still in a fog, and it feels like a dark cloud has taken up permanent residence above my head. But… the show must go on. That means I need to snap out of this funk, start setting positive and achievable goals, and rebuild some healthy habits.
One habit that used to come naturally was expressing myself here on my blog.
I’m looking forward to reconnecting with friends — both old and new — and finding my footing in these familiar, comforting spaces once again. I’ve missed my usual nerd talk as one of Hive’s resident geeks, and I’ve missed how much healthier I felt when I could openly and honestly share challenging or personal things. Writing has always been a powerful tool for me in the past, so I’m hoping to recapture that feeling.
In the meantime, I’ve kicked off the New Year by Powering Up 100 Hive for the first Hive Power Up Day of 2026. I’m excited to grow my stake here again as I dive back into the warm embrace that is Hive.
Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Much love in the meantime ❤️
