Greetings and happy Thursday. This week has been a great week for me despite the lack of work. That is because I have been very busy and even have something to share.
Before I share the small win you may be familiar with my recent posts if you are a follower, if you are new and stumbling across my blog long story short I have been job searching over January and into February and with that I have been busy playing around with my CV/Resume and more importantly trying to network, meet people and using a platform known as LinkedIn. It has been challenging and hard work. All of this is somewhat new to me, but I have had fun doing it and, in so doing, have made some strong relationships with new people, but more importantly, built strong bonds with people I already engage with.
The small win I am excited to share with you today is that I had a job interview
The interview went very well, I was nervous and even had sweaty palms as this was a new environment for me. This was simply something I haven't done in a few years because my recent jobs didn't require interviews, so going in on the cold Wednesday morning, I was nervous but also motivated to try. The interview lasted around 25–30 minutes, and I can confidently say I was very chatty and felt relaxed when answering questions. I used my previous experience to my advantage and constantly recited past events when giving my answers. Towards the end, the interviewer asked, "Why would you be a good fit for the team?" To this question, I responded with "I feel that I have a high work ethic and I like to think of myself as a people person, getting on with daily tasks but also going above to assist others and be a friendly face to not only the customers but the staff too. I have many interests and hobbies, and I am excited to always learn." The interview eventually concluded and as we shook he made a positive comment stating that it was good to interview someone where the answers didn't feel generic. I took this really well and thanked him for the feedback before purchasing some water and beginning my journey back home.
On the walk back home, I felt great I was so glad to have been given an interview and regardless of the result, I think it is clear that my new LinkedIn profile and Resume has paid off as ever since doing those two things I have been seeing small results and soon the big success will come. Feeling happy I messaged my friend asking if he wanted to meet up, I had a bit of time before Creative work hour so it was a perfect time for a lovely cup of coffee.
We tucked in and had a good chat about both my interview and a catch-up as we don't see each other too often due to our commitments. Time went by quickly as we chatted and sipped on our coffee and tea, and in an instant, it was time to leave, catch the bus and get home.
As I said above, I am happy regardless of the outcome, as it shows me big progress regardless, and I don't think I would have achieved this if it wasn't for the wonderful
As I write this post, I am checking off a checklist, as giving myself a plan would be a big help for this post. As I write, I have also realised there are many communities and Hive discord servers I need to go check in on, and as soon as I get this post up, you just may see me around saying hello. If you see me, do say hi back. I want to reconnect again and be around in the places I have been once before.
The journey does not stop here, and I will keep striving for success and being better than I am now. I am always thankful to those who encourage me along this journey. I wish success to you all.
Thank you for reading my post today.
