When I look at my Hive account I don't see any monetary value even though it obviously carries one ,what ever the market says it is worth. Looking at the Hive project it has only just started and is a work in progress much like my account and it needs time,loads of time still.
How can one put a value on something that is very personal and is part of your life. Hive is my winding down mechanism and how I relax so putting a value on that is some what difficult. As I said money can't buy what it offers and I think many people who join and leave miss the point.
There are many types of users and if you are here for instant financial rewards than possibly you are in the wrong place.2 years ago the block chain was flooded with users who were clambering for any dollar they could get their hands on as the price at the time was $4.50 and left as soon as they appeared. It was a feeding frenzy and everything was a bait ball.If they only knew what was possible if they had stayed and the opportunity I believe they have spurned.
The time that it has taken to get to this point is literally in the 10's of thousands of hours which is quite sad in a way as you can never get that time back. I think you have to look at it the other way as what else would you have done in that time? Watched television and filled your brain with crap is the most likely answer.
The social aspect is missed by many and this is the important part of your account growth. I am fascinated to hear what everyone gets up to in real life as they are real stories with real people behind the posts. I may not have met many users, but I feel I know many of them just by interacting with them as they all have different personalities.
Hive has to at some point appeal to a larger community as it offers something that I have never seen anywhere else. I am not a technical person by any means and I have managed to understand the complexities of this place and if I can do it then anyone can as well. I think that is important as you need to understand the mechanisms to see the opportunities.
You don't have to be super talented but offer consistency and time to make this place a success for your self and most importantly be you. I could never have imagined 2 years ago that I would still be here but I am glad I am as I will be here for as long as I can as I enjoy this place and everyone around me too much. For this reason I say Hive is priceless to me and only know one way and that is to just keep staking every day. I honestly see this as a pension type fund to help subsidise me later in life and not for now.It is anyones guess what the value will be in 5 years let alone 10 or 15 years from now and that is the gamble so we may as well have fun in the meantime.
