I have been around since August 2016, as user 50,418 I have spent quite a bit of time posting about how this all works. There was not a whole lot of information about how it worked when I began. One thing I understood right away, is how each post is essentially a web page of hypertext, stamped into the chain.
When I was younger I taught myself HTML and began building web pages for fun. I used FortuneCity, Geocities, Lycos, Tripod, many site that offered free file storage space and file managers to build with.

Although we have hive.blog as the basic HIVE front end, the developers of steempeak have launched PeakD and it is fully functional. You can sign in with HiveSigner, which is the equivalent of SteemConnect.
This is my favourite interface for posting, but it does a whole lot more than that. There is an advanced Wallet, support for Communities and much more. If you are going to sign in, sign in with PeakD.com
