As a Hive user with limited coding experience, I've been hard at work developing wp-dapp, a WordPress plugin that allows users to interface with the Hive blockchain. Today, I decided to set up a WordPress sandbox on a subdomain of my website, dapp.diggndeeper.com, to test out the plugin's features. Little did I know that a simple naming convention mistake could almost bring down my entire root install of DiggnDeeper.com!
But I didn't let that setback stop me. With determination and a sense of humor, I spent the majority of the day researching the plugin's layout and features, starting with the easiest and most important ones. I even set up a GitHub repository with the first iteration of wp-dapp.php, although I still need to do more research on effective collaboration and using the platform in general.
I have to admit, my coding skills are a bit rusty and I'm struggling to get started. But that hasn't dampened my enthusiasm for wp-dapp and the potential value it can bring to the Hive blockchain. I'm staying consistent and pushing forward, even if it means making mistakes along the way. It's the way to learn.
For me, the key to developing wp-dapp is not just technical expertise, but a passion for bringing something new and valuable to the Hive community. By creating a user-friendly interface that allows users to engage with the blockchain in innovative ways, I believe wp-dapp has the potential to add real value to our platform.
So if you're a fellow Hive user looking for ways to add value to the blockchain, I invite you to join me on this journey. Whether you're an experienced coder or a newbie like me, we can all work together to make Hive an even more vibrant and dynamic community. And if you have any words of wisdom to share, I'd love to hear them - join me on Discord and let's get to work!
