The sky was ablaze with colorful lights at sunrise, and the surroundings created a special sense of peace. I had arranged my sleeping bag and other equipment on the snow, so that I could be fully prepared for the next step. I also kept my backpack and ice axe nearby, so that everything would come in handy at the right moment.
This experience is very special for me, because as a mountaineer I know how difficult it is to set up camp and continue living there in such a cold, remote place. I had to endure the harshness of nature and make many sacrifices to get here. But among all this, when I get the chance to be so close to nature, those moments are the most precious to me.
