People indeed do not own anything online, in their open forums of "free speech", and they are happy.
They flock to it like sheep offering their bodies for the shearing.

Some guy "owned" (well, not really) the @x account and with the rebranding finished, Elon needed it, so he took it. Now, im not 100% sure, but it seems the dude got nothing of value besides some merch.
You know, a shirt you wear a few times while planting Petunias, Chrysanthemums and Daffodils in your garden or changing oil in the car since its too embarrassing wearing an ad on yourself in public for a business you own in no way whatsoever.
The thing is, even if he did pay him, it wouldn't really mean anything.
People on Web2 dont realize that the fact that he CAN take an account at a whim means that by default, free speech on Twitter (X) does NOT exist.
They simply care that they get to say what they want and if the opposition is silenced thats a bonus. That would further improve their experience.
Will people wake up?

See, most of these ideals are worth nothing when they're facing against "convenience".
