Since I'm on this path of imagining a future when this blockchain is effectively the highway of activity, the raw material used to build amazing dapps. I figured I would share an idea that I've had in my head for a while. An idea for a game.
I can't remember when I learnt about this social experiment, but I suspect it hasn't been that long. And, because we are living on the "information age" I find the topic incredibly fascinating.
Hivewolf: a party game
The game would begin with at least seven people, the system(the game) would assign each player a role. More than seven people are needed for the game to work really good.
- There are two roles in the game: Werewolf or Villager - typically all players are villagers with the exception of two.
- There are two phases: Night and Day
Night
- All the villagers go to sleep, they can't chat with each other, nothing or see anything happening in the town.
- The werewolves remain awake, they can chat discreetly, privately and decide who they are to kill that night.
Day
- The game reveals who got murdered last night
- The villagers now are free to chat among themselves (this includes the werewolves, now human)
- They have to decide among themselves who is the werewolf, and thus openly vote for lynching the werewolf (killing it).
- After lynching is done, the system reveals if the villager who died was a werewolf or not.
Winning Conditions:
- The villagers win if they kill the werewolves
- The werewolves win if they equal the villagers in number
Awesome game idea, but
It also has amazing insight into how we work, how information is a weapon. How the uninformed majority is still vulnerable to the informed minority, even if they far outnumber the "evil minority".
I'm sure most Hiveans can imagine how this could work here, how we could even create a reward system, how people could have fun creating their own avatars to play, etc.
I'm going to dream about this a little more.
