Torn. Here it is. My belief in my rights. My knowing if we don't hold tight. They will be gone forever. Then my understanding that we are a sick society. Freedom isn't free. Yet it's price was not meant to be paid by our children. We the parents, warriors, and politicians are meant to gift it to them. How now in this sick sad world do we balance maintaining our critical rights with protecting those most vonerable? Critical yes because without them those with them (government, military, cops) can take any simblance of freedom from us. Vonerable (children, mentally ill, felons) yes because they can't protect themselves. Where is that balance? Is there one? Or is this just the price we pay? I don't have the answer today. Yet the response from the group most set to maintane our rights the NRA is confounding. It would seem one man's safety is more critical then all of the groups right to bear arms. There will be no weapons at the NRA convention because former President Trump is the more important? It is conflicting the NRA taking a knee on the play now. When tomorrow they will argue (no laws restricting guns) that a whole classroom of kids is worth the price of our freedom. I hope to see NRA members protesting their right to bear arms in their own conference. Seems only logical. Yet think it likely they will lay them down for their current Idol, Trump.
