I just wanted to welcome to Hive as it kinda sucks when you enter a new platform and don't know anyone. I still remember my first day on Steem, when I had to spend 30 minutes to figure out how to post a photo (this was before we could post images, and had to learn Markdown to do everything). Then came Dan Larimer reprimanding me because my formatting wasn't very good. LOL
Anyway, I want to show everyone how it came to be that a simple question on Twitter from the account leads to a new user getting a new account set up on Hive. There is a real need for this, as there were technical problems with HIve Signer that prevented this user from succeeding the first time.
I saw that this user had watched the podcast and expressed interest in Hive, then I replied:
This led to a DM exchange on Twitter where I learned that there was a problem with Hive Signer (I have had similar problems with Hive Signer leading to me a blank page, etc.).
After seeing the failed attempt at making an account, I suggested that he get one through the Esteem app link: https://esteem.app/signup
And this time it worked!
After this I took a look at his account and noticed that there is zero HP, and nothing in his account....Hmmmm, this is bad! Why is there no delegation of HP for new users? At this point, I went ahead and delegated 15 HP so he could comment and vote more.
This experience has a lot to be desired. But one thing I found out is that the easiest way to get a new Hive account is through Esteem app. However, when you go to the Esteem sign up page there is zero mention of HIVE. LOL. This makes no sense. It almost feels like Esteem has nothing to do with Hive. For the love of God, lets get a one sentence added to the Esteem signup page that says, "Create your new Hive account. Download Esteem! Start earning ESTM and Hive."
This would be a very simple change to make, and it would make a lot of sense to new users. We gotta do better than before, and right now, it's still hard to get a new account by yourself. It shouldn't be like this.
