The historic Kokil Peari Zamindar House (Kokil Peari Palace) is located on the banks of the Ichamati River in Kalakopa, Nawabganj, Dhaka district. About 200 years ago, in the 1800s, Zamindar Brazen Roy built this house on four acres of land. Along with the name Brazen Roy, he was also known as Sudarshan Roy. The Zamindar house, built in a unique architectural style using bricks, mortar and rods, surrounded by a beautiful garden, was named 'Braj Niketan'. Over time, the ownership of the Kokil Peari Zamindar House first passed to an oil merchant and later to a judge. As a result, the names 'Teli Bari' and 'Jaj Bari' are associated with the history of the Zamindar House.
Within 500 yards of the Kokil Peari Zamindar House, there is a Buddhist temple, Sriloknath Saha House, Kalakopa Ansar Camp, Ukil Bari, Das Bari, Adnan Palace and the Ichamati River. Again, many believe that all these structures are part of the Kokilpeyari zamindar's house.
