Stars are circlelike luminous objects when viewed from a distance display a shape called a star, when you get closer you will discover that what you call a star is just a round object.

Viewing your neighbour's electric bulb from 100 metres away at night will display a star-like shape.
Viewing a vehicle's head lamp at a distance in the night, all you will see is a starlike shape, but on getting close, you will see the real light source.
Marriage may shine like a star, but when you get closer, you will notice that all that glitters is not gold.
